Carolina held it down with the suprising mother and daughter duo, Julie & Claudia Jimenez, coming through with clutch hits and a big double play to end a Bomber rally. Carmen Diaz had an outstanding pitching performance. With leg injuries, Bomber pitcher P. Pagonis was an inspiring athlete and tried to keep the Bombers in it in game one. Lady Jays (9-5) came back from a 7-2 deficit to win game one against Lady Bandits (5-9). Shortstop Santos went 2 for 4 to lead the way. Bandits left fielder S. Hernandez went 2-3 hitting. Jays got comfortable in game 2 with a 11-4 win. The Rivera sisters contributed in the solid victory. Jays and Carolina have a commanding lead in the best of 5. Team Carolina continues their undefeated season by taking games one and two in the inaugural championship series. Both teams were up to the task as Carolina and Jays attempted to find a way after a slow and sluggish start to the game. Carolina escaped the ranks of the loss column by scoring just enough to win. With Carolina's pitcher, Carmen Diaz, the game was all secured. In game two the Jays wasted no time by jumping into the lead 3-0 early in the game. After a little firework discussions between the benches Carolina put the game away by scoring eight unanswered runs. The weather attempted to become a factor in the game but stayed away just enough for the players and fans the opportunity to watch oustanding softball. Series continues next week again at Kilbourne Park. See you soon. Lou Jimenez MLSA CEO

Lady Carolina are your new MLSA Women's Champions!!! Carolina sweeps the Lady Jays to complete the incredible accomplishment of going 19-0! Very diffcult to do in any sport. Lady Jays arrived at the park ready to play but the pitching of series MVP Carmen Diaz made sure Carolina was in the drivers seat. Series player MVP honors went to Rudy Diaz with outstanding hitting and defense at first. Thanks to all the teams, managers and coaches for participating in this inaugural year. The league is set to continue and grow for 2023 based on numerous managers and players reaching out to the league and the best commissioner in the World, Isaly Ortiz!! Thanks again, see you next year. Lou Jimenez MLSA CEO
