Congratulations to team Coamo! They record the first victory in MLSA history outside of the state of Illinois. While trying to balance leisure with business, Coamo had to battle the elements since the diamonds were in less than perfect conditions but were able to get that "W" against the host team Indios de Canovanas with a final tally of 5-3. The first game was a hard fought battle against the Carolina Police team but fell short at the end by a score of 6-2. Regardless of the outcome, MLSA was very honored to have the chance to play our brothers from the Island. Many thanks to the Mayor of Canovanas who put this program together with her staff. A personal thank you goes out to my cousin Colonel Hector Monge Sanjurjo for receiving MLSA with a police band at the airport. What he didn't tell me that his Carolina police team had won the championship in the first responder league in the entire island. Got us this time but we'll get you back soon.
