Major League Softball Association (MLSA) Code of Conduct
The MLSA will always be 100% committed to the betterment and the building
of strong partnerships with our communities and the Park District.
Players
- I will represent myself, my family, my team and the MLSA with dignity, honesty, integrity, and honor at all times and at all MLSA events.
- I will play with pride, intensity and sportsmanship no matter the circumstances of the game and always encourage my teammates to do the same.
- I will support my teammates, MLSA, the Park District facilities, our community, and always maintain a positive attitude.
- I will be courteous, respectful, mindful to MLSA, the Park District facilities, my teammates, manager, coaches, game officials, fans and our community.
- I will not argue with any game officials for any reason.
- I will refrain from outbursts of anger, temper and poor sportsmanship.
- I will never direct vulgar or offensive language or gestures, towards fans, teammates, coaches, manager, opposing teams, game officials, and MLSA regardless of circumstances.
- I will not become hostile, nor resort to any violence (fighting) towards anyone. Regardless of circumstances.
- I will not use physical, verbal or any forms of intimidation towards anyone. Regardless of circumstances.
- I will respect any and all equipment (Teams, MLSA, Opposing Teams, the Park District facilities) at all times. Never causing damage.
- I will never cause any harm to any the Park District facilities and communities.
- I will never post any inappropriate, negative, disrespectful, or detrimental comments on ANY Social Media platform, towards teammates, MLSA, coaches, managers, opposing teams, game officials, fans, the Park District Facilities, and communities. Regardless of circumstances.
- I will not engage in any actions that are detrimental, disrespectful, or damaging to the image and name of the MLSA, the Park District facilities, or communities.
- Use of alcohol, drugs, or weapons of any kind will not be tolerated. ZERO Tolerance!!!
MLSA Code of Conduct -Managers/ Coaches
- I will represent myself, MLSA, my family, my team with dignity, honesty, and integrity at all times at all MLSA events.
- I will provide training, instruction, guidance, and motivation to all players so that they can perform at their best of their abilities.
- I will set a consistent example of self-discipline, professionalism, and integrity at all times.
- I will enforce proper behavior and maintain that all code of conduct to be adhered to by all associated with my team as well as the MLSA.
- I will also abide by all rules as described in the players section in the code of conduct.
MLSA Code of Conduct- Fans
- I will represent myself, MLSA, my family, my team with dignity, honesty, and integrity at all times at all MLSA events.
- I will be positive and promote good sportsmanship by giving respect and courtesy to MLSA, all players, coaches, game officials, fans, communities, and the Park District facilities.
- I will not engage in any profane, insulting, harassing, or abusive behavior towards anyone at any time. Regardless of circumstances. Use will not be tolerated.
- I will not become hostile, nor resort to violence (fighting) towards anyone.
- I will not use physical, verbal or any form of intimidation towards anyone regardless of the circumstances.
- I will not argue with any game officials. Regardless of circumstances.
The Consequences
Failure to abide by any and all aforementioned code of conducts may subject players, managers, coaches to disciplinary actions taken by the Director of Operations Eddie Del Valle and Commissioner Lou Jimenez of the MLSA.
- A written warning from the Director of Operations and Commissioner of the MLSA.
- A one or multi-game suspension during which a violator may not be allowed to participate, or be present as a player, manager, coach or spectator.
- A suspension for the remainder of the season in which violators may not be allowed to participate, or be present as a player, manager, coach or spectator.
- Suspension from any and all future participation or involvement in The Major League Softball Association Program.
All disciplinary actions and decisions will be made by the Director of Operations and Commissioner of the MLSA. There will be no refunds of any fees or portions thereof when any disciplinary actions are taken. All decisions are final.
